Applications are open for the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) scholarship for 2024-25. This scholarship is sponsored by the Malaysian Government and is dedicated to international students from developing countries who want to pursue higher academic degrees in Malaysia.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for the MTCP Scholarship:
- Applicants should be from developing countries.
- Applicants must be 45 years of age or younger.
- Applicants for the Master’s Degree Program should have at least a Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5 at the Undergraduate Degree level.
- Applicants should possess an IELTS (minimum score of 6.0) as proof of English language proficiency, or a TOEFL paper-based test score of 500, or a TOEFL internet-based test score of 60.
- Applicants may also submit an English Proficiency Certificate issued by the university (indicating the previous degree’s mode of instruction was in English).
- Applicants must undertake full-time study for a Master’s Degree at one of the participating universities (check the list below).
- Applicants who have not started their course yet or less than one semester for a Master’s degree.
Required Documents for MTCP Scholarship 2024-25:
Applicants should upload all the following documents to the MTCP online application system:
- Application form
- Admission Offer Letter from a participating Malaysian University
- Letter of Recommendation from two referees
- Statement of Intent
- A certified copy of Academic Transcripts
- CV / Resume
- English Language Proficiency test result (TOEFL/ IELTS/ PTE/ CAE/ CPE/ MUET/ equivalent qualification); alternatively, applicants can submit an official letter from the previous institution indicating English as the medium of instruction.
- One certified copy of the Passport
- Medical Report

Method of Payment:
Participants will receive allowances and other benefits from the Scholarship Division, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, through their individual savings accounts. Students are advised to open a Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad account.
